she married a Black man - I'm not sure what the ramifications of that were, but I guess it would depend on the people, wouldn't it? I also believe that she was probably Indian/Spanish mixed, just because of the area and the people.We'll see I suppose...
My husband's maternal hapolgroup (aragon from nm) goes back to an aboriginal tribe in Columbia.We're pretty sure it was the classic case of Spanish man marrying Indian woman (I think I read once that 80% of all Anglo-Caucasian/Aboriginal marriages were male White, woman 'Other').His paternal haplogroup is North American Indian - we know that was in the last couple of generations and most likely Ute or Apache.Again - we'll see...
One of the things I've learned about this family is that nothing is ever as it seems...
