You are right about the Indian names. They are not exactly what one would expect.The white culture influence somewhat shows there. Movies and such. History shows how the indian names were butchered. The indian language was foreign to the other races and I think they had trouble understanding the pronounciations of the names and so used what they thought it sounded like.
Just a question, how many of the tribal Indians do you think actually speak the language now? I heard that it was very few . Nothing that I can prove, just what I heard.
If true, what a shame.
I think we might agree that tracing the american lineages is a daunting task at best. I also read where the Dawes book on families is flawed.If so, where does that leave a lot of people? Something to think about.
I will not comment on Ms.Gordon's family ties because I have no knowledge of her family. Just the same as I would not comment on yours not knowing anything of your family history.
Here is another curiosity to me, do the tribal members on here have tribal names? Just curious.
