Hi GD...this is an interesting discussion because it illustrates an integral idea that has been discussed here (over and over again...): John Ross' was Cherokee because he was born to it AND because he choose to stay part of the tribe. His connection was cultural as well as 'by blood'. Had he been 1/8 Cherokee and calling himself 'White', he would have been (for all intents and purposes...) 'White' with Cherokee ascendants. No doubt there's a whole lot that follows that...but it's all been said. Juanita Notify Administrator about this message?
