Records indicate that the PERKINS and allied families were of English/European ancestry.
Like many white settlers, they moved in to Alabama after the land had been ceded by the Creek, Cherokee, Chickasaw and Choctaw Nations.
St Clair County was created in 1818 from part of Shelby.
Shelby (1818) from Montgomery (1815) from Monroe (1815) from the Creek Nation.
