Judy It doesn't really work like that. That is, one cannot simply pick a name from the Dawes Roll, and then try to "connect" that person to one's own family. The Choctaw, like the Cherokee, have a long and well documented history. It's important to know something of that history, as well as your own family's history, in order to determine whether or not there is any possible likelihood of a connection. Some additional information : The FULTZ (FUTTS) and WHITTEMORE families are to be found in Warren County TN in 1880. This census can be viewed (for free) at the LDS site. http://www.familysearch.org 1900 Grayson co TX Wrightwhite Twp ED 105 PG 3A DW 55 FN 54 Listed as *FULTS* John S 37 wm Jan 1863 TN TN TN (Married 16 yrs) Dovie J 32 wf Jan 1868 TN TN TN (3 children) Oscar B 13 wm Feb 1887 TN Willie C 9 wm Sept 1890 TN Mamie E 8 wf Oct 1891 1910 Choctaw Co OK Everidge Twp ED 56 PG 12A DW 75 FN 75 MORRIS Ross F 29 wm GA GA GA (Married 5 yrs) Nannie 23 wf TX TN TN (3 children) Fluker 5 wm TX Frank 3 wm OK Edgar 2/12 wm OK Same HH FN 76 MORRIS Titer 31 wm GA GA GA (Littleton) MORRIS Mamie 17 wf TN TN TN (FULTZ) Married I yr 7/12 Littleton MORRIS can be found with tis family in 1880 in Campbell Co GA. Given that the Choctaw had ceded their lands in Alabama and Mississippi by the 1830's and removed west to IT, I think that trying to connect the Choctaw Gilbert MORRIS to your white MORRIS family from Georgia is something of a stretch.
