Surry Co., NC ancestors, Wolf, Bench

Family lore says that Joanah Bench, daughter of Daniel(b.1761NC) and Elizabeth Bench, may have been American Indian. She was born(1783) in Surry Co., NC, as was her husband John Daniel Wolf(1787). They were said to be married in Floyd Co., KY, in 1808, but strangely, the first child was not born until 1815, so there must be something wrong with my dates.
They eventually moved to Ohio, finally settling in Vinton Co.. Their children: Frederick L, Daniel R., John D., Anna, Temperance, Henderson, Elkanah, Lucinda, and Lawrence.
Does anyone have information to validate the Native American heritage?
