Dennis' with NAI ancestry
My Dennis' are of NAI ancestry, with YDNA markers putting us in the Q3 haplogroup. We match no one in the Dennis Surname Project, but do match closely with people of the surname Freeman.
Marion Washington Dennis, b. ca. 1854-56-FL said his father, Marion William Dennis, d. Civil War and was b. Ireland (YDNA proves this was not true).Mother was a Mary Bell or Mary Bell Ireland, b.?.
There was at least 1 sibling, a brother named Joseph or John. The boys were separated.M.W. Dennis may be the person in the household of Benjamin Asheley (Ashley) 1860 AL census. But at any rate, he is not found on any census' until 1870 Guadalupe Co., TX one.
Pictures show M. Washington Dennis to be of NAI lineage, and probably Mulatto or Black ancestry.
Looking for Dennis' or Freeman's or Martin's or Bell's that might show a connection to our family.
I have tried to find more info on the family of Lucinda MARTIN and William DENNIS, who are of NAI lines. They had a son named Marion.
Also, I was told to look at the line of the DENNIS lady who married a BENGE.
Any help is appreciated.
