My dad always told me there was "Indian blood" in our family - his family has actually been in the "New World" since the mid 1600's - while researching my family tree I have come across others in the family who have heard similar stories but I can't seem to find the connection. I have both Wright, Webster, and Wetherall names in my background - could you tell me where I might find additional information. My maiden name is Lundy (desc. from Richard Lundy who arrived in Mass around 1680) but of course there's now hundreds of other names mixed in. My great, great grandmother was a Wetherall; I have a Bible from Tacy Kinsey who was married to Lincoln Wetherall. Any assistance would help.My grandmother was a "Wright"; and the Webster family inter-married in and out of the Lundy family for generations. I've been searching the American First Nation names figuring it must have been back in the 1600 or 1700's before they came to Canada but maybe not. Unfortunately almost everyone connected with my dad's family who we might ask is no longer living. (a point well taken in now documenting everything eh?) We just found out my youngest son who we adopted when he was 5 weeks old has Treaty Status with a Band in Alberta. He was born with a birthmark of a bear paw on his rib cage and after encountering almost 100 black bears over about 3 years of camping an Elder told us its his totem. It also turns out both his great grandfathers were medicine men so I guess we shouldn't be too surprised. My other bio children are now more than interested in finding out if my dad's family story is true as well. thanks for any assistance.
