Hello
I'm searching for an Edward/Edmond Ahern and wife, Ellen Cahill. Both families were from Mitchelstown, Co. Cork.
They came to the States around 1850 and settled in Manchester, NH area.
Edward was the son of Thomas & Hannah Ahern(Ahearn)
Ellen Cahill, daughter of Michael & Margaret Cahill.
Edward & Ellen met in NH they were married in 1872 at St. Anne's parish in Manchester. According to an 1880 census,
the couple had the following children:
1. Michael, age 5 b: 1875
2. Annie/Maggie, age 3 b: 1877 (twins)
3. Johanna, age 11 months b: 1879
* also shows a Margaret Cahill living with them. I believe this person to be an older sister to Ellen.
I am unable to find where they are buried or to continue the search in Ireland.
