Hi Cindy,
Yes my Michael Ahern was a reporter! but we thought his fathers name was Michael also, although we were going off a paid researchers findings. What I know is my 3x's grandfather Patrick Henry Ahern came by boat from Cork County in 1951 or 1957 based off 1900 census,he and his brother Michael jumped ship when denied port in New York, they worked on a barge for a year then went on to Canada for a few years, then returned to Chicago where Michael stayed and became a reporter, Patrick went onto Kansas to become a farm laborer.
