Hello everyone,
I am curious to know if anyone reading this message sees a connection to the following Ahearn family who lived in New York City and Brooklyn.
The heads of the Ahearn family are Edward Ahearn and Margaret Mattern who is the daughter of Nicholas Mattern and Susanna Wannemacher. At the moment, I do not have their exact date of marriage or who the parents are of Edward Ahearn. It appears that at some point after 1904 that Edward Ahearn must of passed away as Margaret "Mattern" Ahearn married a second time to a certain William A. Kroos on June 3, 1911 in Brooklyn, New York.
The known children of Edward Ahearn and Margaret Mattern include:
1. Loretta R. Ahearn born about 1887 in New York City
2. Veronica Ahearn born about 1894 in New York
3. Genevieve Ahearn born about 1896 in New York
4. Joseph Ahearn born about 1901 in New York
5. Francis Ahearn born about 1904 in New York
In 1910 the widowed Margaret "Mattern" Ahearn and her children were living at 46 Lewis Avenue in Brooklyn, New York. Francis Ahearn also known as Frank Ahearn and his brother Joseph Ahearn in the 1930 Census were living at 195th Place in Hollis Queens with their mother Margaret and their step-father William A. Kroos. Frank Ahearn in the 1930 census was listed as being a mail clerk for a newspaper and Joseph Ahearn was listed as a New York City fireman.
On August 26, 1911 in Brooklyn, New York Loretta R. Ahearn married a certain Herman Kultzow (born 09 Dec 1887, Brooklyn, NY - died 18 Oct 1948, New York City), son of Frederick Kultzow and Marie Moehring. Herman and Loretta Kultzow had a daughter named Margaret Kultzow (born about 1916, New York)
Herman Kultzow had two brothers Ferdinand Frederick Kultzow (born 02 Jun 1881, Brooklyn, NY) and Frederick Kultzow (born Feb 1880, Brooklyn, NY) and a sister Dorothea Kultzow (born 06 Jul 1876, Brooklyn, New York - died 15 Oct 1966, Brooklyn, New York).
Frederick Kultzow was married to a lady named Anna on 10 Mar 1926 in Brooklyn.
Dorothea Kultzow was married to a man named Ernst Aring (Sep 1869, Germany - 02 Apr 1926, Brooklyn, NY) on 20 Oct 1897 in Brooklyn. Dorothea and Ernst had two daughters Dorothy Aring (21 Apr 1904, Brooklyn, NY - 05 Nov 1999, Brooklyn, NY) and Charlotte Aring (born 12 Sep 1898, Brooklyn, NY - died ?).
