Hi Everyone, Today received the death transcript for my mysterious DENIS LOUIS AHEARN. Denis died as Denis LOUIS at Braidwood NSW Australia in 1914, age 87. So born c.1827. He was a retired school teacher. According to the death cert he had been in NSW for 65 years. No parents names or occupations are given. Does say place of birth ABERGAVENNY, ENGLAND (altered from WALES). He was married at St Michael's Church (RC), Bungonia (District of Goulburn) NSW in 1866 to Margaret HOGAN (daughter of J. HOGAN & ? KELLY born 1850 in County Clare, Ireland). At the time of his marriage he was using the surname AHEARN. Some of the children were registered as AHEARN/AHERN & some were registered with the surname LOUIS. All the family deaths are registered with the surname LOUIS. The reason for the change of surname still escapes me but I'm more interested in trying to determine the ancestry at this point. Has anyone any AHEARNS born Abergavenny? Or any suggestions where to search from here please? Regards, Vicki. Notify Administrator about this message?
