David J. Ahern of Newcastle, Limerick married Mary Upton of Newcaslte on 2/15/1878- witnesses for wedding were Patrick Houlihan James Upton Johanna Hunt Mary Moore.
There is a listed death of John Ahearn 10/11/1878 at five days old in Newcastle, so the family is still in IRE in Oct of 1878.
There is a copy of a grave receipt from Worcester Mass listing Margaret Ahern died 4/24/1886, aged 4 yrs 4 mos, 24 days. Mary Elizabeth Ahern died 1/5/1887 9 mos old. David J. Ahearn (spelling change)died 9/29/1888, aged 31.
Brother of Mary Upton Ahern is James Upton died 4/26/1987 at 36 yrs old in Flatbush Cemetery Brooklyn- burien 4/29/1897.
Thomas Foley listed died 3/9/1900 in Flatbush at age 71 (no clue who this is).
My grandfather John Ahearn born 7/20/1916 died 10/19/1971.
His relation (a cousin?) David J. Ahearn died 9/7/1921 at 32 yrs old- was gassed in WW1 and died of subsequent health problems.
David was married to an Ann- no children.
We have a Bridget Ryan in the bible died 11/12/1906 in Holy Cross cemetery in NYC (no idea who this is).
Anna Florence Ahearn born 7/25/1909, sister of John and David Ahearn. Also called / listed as Florey, died 12/19/1947- never married.
Mary Ahearn. mother of David J. Ahearn dead 2/2/1915, buried in Holy Cross Cemetery in same plot as David.
David J. Ahearn married a Mary Upton and had children John F. Ahearn (b 12/17/1879 died at age 61 in 12/26/1940)- member of NYFD Engine 240. John F Ahearn married Sarah Gleeson and had John Jerome, David J. and Florence. James E. Ahearn died in 10/31/1910 (24 days old) and Gladys V. died 5/8/1914 at three months old.
