My Ahearns are from Boston, Mass. I have records of them being in
New
York City as early as the late 1800's. I am told they moved there
after
a baby in the family died in Boston. The name is always John Ahearn-
the
first knowledge I have is of John Ahearn wedding Sarah Gleeson, they
had
John, David, Florence Ahearn in Brooklyn New York from around 1916
on. I
am told our Ahearns are originally from Cork IRE to Boston to NYC.
Other
names married into the Ahearn name are Gleeson, Dierks, Upton,
Ambrose....we are related to the Arizona war hero John Ahearn, he is
a
cousin of my grandfather.
