AHEARN relatives of KERWINs in Brooklyn

Have hit a brick wall looking for information on Thomas Kerwin born about 1846 who came to Brooklyn about 1868. Believe he married Mary A O'Connor of Mullingar Westmeath before he came to US. Have information on Mary's family but only hint on the Kerwin side is that these Kerwins might bo related to the AHEARNS and Nora QUINN.

Children of Thomas and Mary were, William, Walter, Katherine, and Thomas and they were put into St. John's Orphanage in the 1880's. Leads me to believe Thomas's father might have been William as Walter was Mary's father. William and Walter became priests and Katherine never married.
