MY maternal grandfather was John Joseph Ahern, born in 1896 (somewhere) in Co Cork to James Ahern (born 1851 presumably Co Cork) and Hannah Martin, born Lisnaskea, Co Fermanagh 1861. Brothers: Patrick (died 1914 about 25 y.o, Philip (may have migrated to the US or Canada after 1945), James (career soldier, no information), William (possible migrant to US or Canada) and Mary (married into Foley family. The Aherns came to Scotland about 1900. Do any of these characters fit any in with any other Ahern trees?
