My family is from Guayaquil-Ecuador, South America. I know very little about my ancestors from my father's side and would like to talk to anyone who may have access to information leading to who my grandfather was. His name was Alfredo Aguirre. When I was a child, I heard a private adult conversation that suggested my grand father left Spain for political reasons. During the early stages of the Spanish Civil war in the mid 1930's, my grand father viewed Franco as an opponent of democracy, a bad apple among leaders. Luckily him and his two brothers left Spain before Franco rose to power in 1939. He received political refuge in Ecuador and resided in Guayaquil until his death in the late 1960's.
