Hello,
Does anyone have information on Juan Baptista
De Aguilar? He was probably born about 1761.
Was he descended from the Rael de Aguilar family?
I have traced him from Sandia, Sandoval to
Jemez,Sandoval, to Santa Fe. He married Ysabel
Gutierrez in 1781. I have the baptism records
for 6 of their children baptised in Nuestra
Senora de los Dolores, Sandia Pueblo. I also
have a record of baptism for their last child
taking place in San Diego, Jemez, Sandoval.
In the 1821 census,I find Juan Aguilar & Isabel
Gutierrez living in el Barrio de San Francisco,
Santa Fe. Juan Aguilar's age is given as 64.
The baptism records of his children do not give
any clues as to who his parents or siblings may
have been. Juan Aguilar's marriage record reads:
24 Sept 1781 Juan Bapta de Aguilar of Santa Clara,
m. Ysabel Gutierrez of Bernalillo. Testigos: Jph
Man'l de Aragon, Blas Chavez and Antonio Gurule.
Pads:Jph Valdez & his wife Ma Trujillo of Abiquiu.
I have been going through every church book of the
area that I can get my hands on but no luck. Any
help will be appreciated.
