Hi Marc,
I too am searching the Agostini's from Corsica, but I still have a long way to go in my research. This is what I have.
My GGGG-grandfather was Joseph Agostini. Born approx. 1800. His mother's name I believe was Louisa Maria. He ended up in the Cook Islands in the Pacific and married there had 2 daughters, Maria and Louisa. He made a trip to Peru approx. 1863 to petition the government there to help stop the slave trade.
I believe that he originally came from Bastia, but I am still researching that area. What I do know is that the Agostini's from Corsica were one family.
Would like to hear from you.
