Donna,
This is, of course a treasure trove of information. Which angel sent you? Here, however are the facts as I know them from my family's records.
Sarah Agnew, b 1843 in Antrim, Ireland dgthr of William John Agnew and Jane - married William Martin, b 1843 in Ireland and moved between 1870-74 to Iowa, USA. William died in 1886. Her dghtr, Sarah Jane Martin died in Clinton Iowa in 1908. She herself died in 1920 and I am of the mind that she moved back to Ireland, died in her home area and possibly was buried in the Castle desmesne. I'm told by my brother anyway that she is buried there. I ordered the book by the way, the last copy at Amazon.com and am looking forward to reading it.
My question is; is Sarah Agnew from the lineage of the "Old Squire?" Who was William John Agnew? (b. 1813?) and Jane (b.1813-14) One reference which I read made her name out to be Jane Scott. I don't know the dates for Squire Agnew. But I have the feeling, when I can place one or two generation back from Sarah Agnew, then a whole part of the family tree will open itself. What do you think?
By the way, many, many thanks for your research.
Andrew
