Agner/Egner family lines

I have been able to trace my family line back to Johannes and Margarita with help of Celia, Angela and many other descendants. My line, as I believe to be true is: Johannes Aegender to Ludwig Aegender to John Agner to George Agner to John Wesley Agnor to William Caruthers Agnor to James Oliver Agnor to John Edward Agnor.
I'm having a problem following James Oliver, who married Sarah Ann McSorley January 28, 1896 in Lynchburg, VA. They had a son, John Edward Agnor, born June 19, 1897 in Lynchburg, (my father). James, Sarah and John's trail ended with the 1900 Lynchburg City Directory. John married Amelia Dorthy Kotsull in the early 1920's in the Wilkes Barre, PA area, (my parents). According to the city directory of 1900, James was working for a Railroad, he died in Lexington,VA? in 1912. Sarah died in Roanoke, VA in 1937. Still searching the 1900 - 1937 trails.
