On the 1881 census my grandfather (John aged 19) and his younger brother are listed as Ager whereas they were actually named Price. Their mother had married Abraham Ager after the death of her first husband, Lawrence Price. I had been wondering why I couldn't find them on the census and it just goes to show how inaccurate some of the information on the census can be!
