Virgil Beechem Stroud was the son of John Calvin and Louise Jane Cornwell Stroud. I believe that John was the son of Ananias and Mariah Stroud. Both of these families were living side by side in 1870, Ananias being 69 at that time (John being 39).

Also in the same neighborhood were Strouds, Dentons, Crandalls, Babcocks and Fanchers - all Agan relatives. Beecham is a family name, one of Lewis' sons had that name.

The area of Southwest Township, Orange County, Indiana that these folks lived, near Section 16, T1N, R2E, was just north of the original family homestead. Today this area still has descendants of these people, 8 generations removed from our arrival in that location.
