Andrew Agan of 1800's NY, m. to Almira Granger
Posted by: Kevin Vap Date: September 21, 2001 at 19:20:28
  of 183

Married to Almira (or Elmyra or Elmira) Granger (abt 1825 - aft 1880) and resided near Taberg/Annsville, Oneida Co, NY.

We believe he was an only son and only lived to 35 yrs old (per his grandson...my gr grandfather). That would put his birth anywhere from 1809 to 1825 or so. Almira is listed on census in the mid-1800s with her children: Edgar J. (1843-1921) and Sarah Jane Agan (1845-1908).

Son Edgar married Sarah Kingsbury Brooks (widow of Joseph Brooks) of Lee, Oneida Co, NY & moved to KS in abt 1879-1881. Daughter Sarah married Benjamin Ballard & stayed in Oneida Co NY (they are buried in Maple Hill Cem).

Any information on Andrew is appreciated.

One speculation is that he is the son of Andrew & Clarissa Agan of Rennselaer Co, NY, but Debbie Guynup (I think that was you, right?) says they only had a daughter that she knows about.

Last name could've been changed from Akin, Aikens, Agans, etc. Who knows? I'm at a dead end (without access to many more records...a trip to Rome NY area someday, I guess).
