I have an old, typewritten record of my family which includes David McCrath (McCreath), born June 4, 1789; died Sept. 20, 1873 at Scarhead, Scotland; married Sarah McKie who died at Scarhead, Scotland. David was the eldest son of James McCrath - and according to my record - Elizabeth McMorrie married June 12, 1788 at Laggan, Barhill, Scotland. I have found evidence that David's mother was Mary Affleck. It's possible that James McCrath was married to Mary first, and Elizabeth McMorrie second. I have not found marriage records yet. I am descended from James and Elizabeth (McMorrie) McCreath through their daughter, Elizabeth, who married Hugh Muir and was the only child of Jame and Elizabeth to leave Scotland and immigrate to Michigan, USA.
