Elmer Adrian died last year at 94 years of age, long after his wife had been hospitalized with Alzheimers from which she also long ago died.
He was an avid golfer till the day he died and he also dabbled in creative writing, publishing many poems online and a novel about the Great Depression published by Vantage Press a few years ago.Elmer did not take up writing till in his early 80s, earning a bachelors degree in Creative Writing at some Iowa Workshop.
His children earned advanced degrees and are in the mining and telecommunications fields, globally.
A close relative of his, David H. Adrian, is wheelchair bound and in the final stages of alcoholism, after a long career with U.S. intelligence branches, overseas and on domestic grounds. He was a former professor at the Citadel Military University, and the trainer of the KAL Korean Air Line pilots during the Cold War and the KAL007 disaster. He is also listed in the phone book for Tucson, Arizona.
