I checked the Soc. Sec. Death index and found several maybes.... one, born in 1913, in Greenville, SC. Here's the URL so that you may take a look at them all; http://ssdi.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/ssdi.cgi You can read how to obtain a copy of the SS record, if you believe any might be whom you seek. Do you believe Marvin to have been born in SC? If you believe him to have been born there, after 1900, then check the Federal Census for that date, to see if you can find him in the household of his parents. Do you believe Mary to have been your howevermany great grandmother, or another wife? There are other avenues to explore, but I'm unsure exactly what it is you're hoping to find.......adoption papers? proof that Marvin was your grandfather? great grandfather? Of course everyone involved and anyone who would have known first hand what was what, from the early 1900s, is now dead, so it's almost more like genealogical research, isn't it? If you believe him to have been a direct ancestor, then list names of your parent/ grandparent, with dates and places, for help in linking to Marvin...and, it'd help to know why you believe him to have been a family member...sometimes that contains some clues.
