letters in adoption file are from alice up to 1939 even though she generally had someone else checking for her. It was always on her behalf. She wrote a personal note in 1939. Her step father died in 1938 and no mention of her. I have her grandmothers obit the one that raised her and in those days they did not list surviors especially in a females obit. no mention in 1953 at her mothers death and none at any of her sisters deaths in 1982 1989 and one other in the 80's I am searching for her grandfathers obit in 1930 since he was the one to raise her.Oddly enough he wrote the geneologicial book "The Illusrated life of the Flehartys" but only briefly mentioned his children and their birth years.on the 1900 censes when Nellie had Alice,Pearl and Flossie she said she had 3 children and 3 living. in 1910 when alice was not with her she had pearl flossie and jessie and said she had 3 children and 3 were living, but i know alice was alive until 1939 at least. I have her school transcritps and she is listed with Earl through 1914 in Seattle in the Polk directory after their marriage in 1911 in vancouver Wa. My dad born 13 months later and kept by them from april 19th 1912 until May 11 1912.She was 18 Earl was 21 or 22 I find he fibs about his age even when he was in the service. Early cences says july 1890. It would really be sad if Alice spent her entire life searching for my father and never had another child, I so hope she had other children and passed his name and circumstanses on to them as did my father. I'll keep you posted if I find anything.
