I thought since the name Elsberry is kind of unusual that I would send this obit I found in case someof these people are connected.

LUANA M. THOMA
Luana M. Thoma, 70, of Fort Dodge, died Wednesday, February 28, 2007, at Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Monday, March 5th at Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 1:30 p.m. at Corpus Christi Church with Rev. Brad Pelzel officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where there will be a vigil at 7:00 p.m.

Surviving is her husband Ron; their children and spouses, Pamela (Harold) Anderson of Rippey, Donald (Laura) Elsberry of Boone, Ronald (Brenda) Thoma Jr. of Fort Dodge, Nancy (Larry) Schaffner of Boone, Angela (Steve) McNeil of Fort Dodge, Peggy (Eric) Heistand of Boone, Amy (Dwight) Hanus of Fort Dodge, Cindy (Mike) McClurg of Bullhead City, AZ; 17 grandchildren; half-sister, Carol Mull of Boone. Luana was preceded in death by her parents, Bernard Weber and Ione (Asklund) Keeney; brothers, Daniel and Bernard Weber; sisters, Karen Elsberry and Ione Godwin; and a granddaugher, Jenna Elsberry.

Luana M. Weber was born November 12, 1936 in Boone County where she was raised and educated. In 1954 she was united in marriage to Donald Elsberry in Boone, Iowa and in 1959 Donald passed away. On July 7, 1961 she was united in marriage to Ronald Thoma Sr. at Corpus Christi Church and they established their home in Fort Dodge. Luana worked for several years at Parkway Restaurant, for 19 years at Globe Union, and then worked for Friendship Haven for 5 years as a C.N.A. Over the years, Luana volunteered as a Brownie Leader and Girl Scout Leader. She was a member of Corpus Chrisit Church.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
