Adopted In Missouri Search Info To Help You
Greetings Searchers: If you are searching for a Missouri Adoptee and you know their Date of Birth, Please Read.
I spent the last 13 years searching for my cousin. We have posted on this site and many others to try to find him but had no luck until I recently found a little known secret. You can order a list of names that includes the "final" name on the birth certificate for everyone born on a certain day in Missouri.I ordered this list, received it on April 25, found my cousin on April 27 (less than 48 hrs) Even though his name was changed entirely.
The only thing this list will show you is names, but you can use this to narrow down your search. Roughly half of the names can be checked off because they will obviously be the oppisite sex of the adoptee you are looking for. Then you can use the remaining names to start searching. If you know the adoptees first name (i.e. Jim) you can look up contact information for just the ones named James on the list to get you started. If their name has changed or you don't know it, you can use the list as a reference to see if any of them have posted their name on any adoption registers.
Send a letter requesting a copy of the birth index for dd/mm/yyyy (date the adoptee was born) and a check for the fee.Don't forget to send your return address. As of April 2007 the fee was $52.50.

I recommend calling to confirm the fee.Remember, all you will get is a list of the names that are on the birth certificate now.Not the original birth name, Not the married name, Not the place of birth. But if their name waschanged when they were adopted, the adopted name will be on the list.
Best Wishes to all: Never give up the search, I've hit brick walls for 13 years but after 44 years of separation, my cousin is now back with his birthmom and we are all very happy.
