The following is the information I have:
1. 1880 Anne Arundel census lists John Henry Warfield, adopted son 7/12. It lists birthplace of Father as VA., mother as MD, John Henry as DC.
2. His death Certificate lists William and Charlotte Duvall Warfield as his parents, same for marriage license.
3. Living in same house with John Henry on census was a 21 year old cousin by marriage, Nina Duvall.
4. This mysterious women lived with him when he enlisted in the service and she (Nina) was always named as his next of kin.
5. His birthdate is 9-28-1879, he married Catherine Neuman on 10-24-1922, he died in MD. at Veterans Hospital at Fort Howard on 9-11-1963.
6. Microfilm of his baptism, shows parents but very difficult to read, as if it was erased. Looks like Jones and Neer.
We have contacted DC and MD for birth records/adoptions. MD can not find anything and so far we have not heard from DC. All the books show that William and Charolette had no issues. We are also unable to find anyone named Nina Duvall or when she died. Contacted Church Home and Hospital in MD but they said they do not keep records that far back and if they did we would need Given name and date of death. (as we think Nina is a nickname)
