Adolph's in Madison Twp., Muskingum Co., Ohio

I am looking for more information on the Valentine Adolph family who lived in Madison Township, Muskingum County, Ohio?

He came to the United States from Alsace-Lorraine, France at age 15. He was born in 1862. We still can't find what part of Alsace-Lorraine, France he was born. Artolsheim (province) in 1872 is all we know.

He was a Symmes Creek ferry operator for 16 years and well known as a farmer.

Anyone having information on the family before arriving in Ohio would be helpful.

He attended Salem Methodist Church for many years.
