Daniel, Thanks for your message. This is what we have on your family: George Washington ADERHOLD (1841-1906) was son of Michael & Bersheba (McWHORTER) ADERHOLD of Carroll Co, GA. As the story goes, George was sweet on his first cousin, Drucilla McWHORTER. Then he went off to fight in the Civil War. While he was away, his mom died, and Michael married Drucilla (his deceased wife's niece). When George came back to discover that his sweetheart/cousin was married to his dad, he left Georgia and supposedly did not return. (No, I'm not making this up!) George settled in the Canton, OH, area and married 1874 to Rebecca KILLEN (1845-1926). They had five children: Walter B. (b & d 1875); Grace Elizabeth (1877-1952), m. 1903 George Homer WHITE and settled in New Haven, CT; Milton (b. 1879), m. Elizabeth WHITTAKER and had two ch, Marvin (b. 1912) and Ethel, m. ERICKSON; Robert Killen (1881-1965), m. Sally HUNKER and had four children (names not known); and Harry (1883-1960?), no further data. When preparing "The ADERHOLD/T Collection" for publication, we were in touch with a daughter of Grace (ADERHOLD) WHITE, Betty, who had married Telford WORKMAN and still lived in CT. Does any of this sound familiar? If not, we can do some checking and see where you do fit in, but these are our kin that I know of in Stark Co, OH. My gg-gf William ADERHOLD left Carroll Co, GA, for a similar reason and is said to have gone to Indiana, but I have never found him; perhaps he instead went to OH as well? -- John in TX <retrofit@flash.net>
