Aderhold originates from Germany, although we have many Aderholds still in Germany, some Aderhold came to U.S. in 1700's and 1800's. The earliest occurrence of these was Jacob Aderhold ie: 1. JACOB 1 ADERHOLD was born Bef. 1599 in Bradenburg, Germany. He married DORTHEA VOSSES 1618, who's grandchildren travelled to Pensylvania, U.S. I hope this helps. Also during my research, prior to Jacob Aderhold his family name was Aderholt. I am still researching, and wish you best of finding the origin of our great and unusual name.
