John Addey born 1777, but where?

John Addey married Hannah Relf in Wittersham, Kent, in 1799. Before this date there is no trace of any Addeys in the area. We know that John was born in 1777 but we can't find out where.

Rumour has it that an ancestor sailed down the coast from the north (this could be Scotland or Northern England) and settled in Kent and we think this could be John.

Do you have a John Addey/Addy born 1777, in your tree? Have you been unable to trace him after 1799? If so, this could be our elusive John.

Its a long shot I know, but I can't think of any other way to trace him !!!!!
