Desperately seeking info on Robert Ady. Newspaper clipping shows spelling with only one d = Ady. This info I have came from my husband's grandmother and is listed in the family bible, which unfortunately I don't have. "Grandmother Mary Ady b around 1823 and d 2/3/1905 at age 82, was married twice; 1st to man named Hunt. Mr. Hunt was father of Prudence Holston. Prudence (referred to as Aunt Prude) was the first white girl born in the Oregon Territory. Mr Hunt was killed in the California Gold Rush in '49 and his wife married Robert Ady. She moved to Oregon in 1943 (before she married Robert). Robert went to Oregon in 1845. (I don't know where he came from?) Robert Ady stood with Matthieux at Champoeg when the provisional government was drawn up. His name is not on the monument commemorating the event because only those who voted "for" the government have their names theron inscribed. " Robert Ady and Mary __?__ (Hunt) Ady had a dau Sarah Ann. Moses Huffaker and Sarah Ann Ady had the following children I know of (not in order of birth): Cora Myrtle Huffaker b 9/16/1890 in Champoeg, OR. d 11/8/1971 in Concord, NH. She graduated from Portland Business School - Bookkeeper. Virgil Clay Smith b 12/14/1916 in Salem, Oregon graduated Hamilton City High School Class of 1935; graduated 1940 from Chico State College; served USAF 3 yrs; taught elementary school in Feather Falls & Thermalito, CA. He had colon cancer which spread to liver and he d in 1987. Virgil m Louanna Forest b 9/30/1922 in Manchester, NH. They moved to Concord, NH where Virgil worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance as an accountant/auditor, and had 3 boys: Does anybody have any information about Robert and Mary? Who are their parents? What was Mary's maiden name? Are there any other children? I'm at a dead-end. Thanks.
