Hello Kathleen,
It so happens that I am from Newark born there in 1952. My great great grandmother was Magdelena Addotta whose father was Gaspare Addotta and mother Francesca last name unknown at this time. She had 4 brothers, Leonardo, Vito, Gaspare and Salvatore. Leonardo maried Pietra Constantino, Vito married Marianna Imperiale, Gaspare married Maria LaFranca and Salvatore do not know. My great great grandmother married Antonino Bruno. I do have other Addotta first names Angela, several Antonino, Celidonia, Emilia, several Francesca, Guiseppe and Rosa as well as several Vito, several Salvatore and several Leonardo. I do remember as a child Addotta's from Newark. They were somehow related to my late father Bernardo Capriola also known as Dino and my relatives the Cipolla's who were also from Newark and some still live in New Jersey. We moved to Detroit, Michigan in 1961. My parents came here from Partinico in the 1940's as did the Cipolla's. If any of these names sound familiar to you than maybe we have at last found long lost relatives. There are many names in my family ancestry that somehow need to be linked. It may be possible the peices will fall together with the Addotta link in my family.
Ciao for now, Sal Capriola
