VERNON ADDINGTON
Funeral services for Vernon Addington, 74, of Burdine, were held June 3 at Polly & Craft Funeral Home.
Burial was in the Addington Cemetery at Beefhide.
A son of the late Hatler and Rosie Addington, he was born at Brushy Fork in Pike County.
He died May 31.
Addington was a former Jenkins City Councilman.
He was a coal miner and an employee of C&O Railraod, and an honoray Kentucky Colonel.
He was a member of the Old Regular Baptist Church, and
was a lifetime member of the United Mine Workers of America.
He is survived by his wife, Marcille Collier Addington; a daughter, Connie Belcher, Burdine; three sons, Steve Addington and David Addington, both of Burdine; four sisters, Nora Johnson, Flora Ray, and Myra Newsome, all of Beefhide, and brothers, Virgil Addington, Beefhide, and Everett Addington, Oak Hill, Ohio; and six grandchildren.
