?ROY NICHOLS ADDINGTON
Roy N. Addington, 92, Pound, died Thursday (Feb. 16, 2006) at Mountain View Medical Center in Norton.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a lifelong resident of Wise County Virginia.
He was the son of the late Patrick Henry and Tryphena Ethel Addington.
Also preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Boggs Addington; Sisters, Bessie Addington, Carrie Cox, Oma Brummett and Ina Deaton; brothers, Wade Addington, Ernest Addington, Bernard Addington and Claude E. Addington.
Survivors include two sons, Dr. Jerry Wayne Addington and wife, Beth, Locust Grove; Bob A. Addington Sr., Coeburn; two granddaughters, Lisa Addington Sturgill and husband Jason, Coeburn and Julie B. Addington, Locust Grove; two grandsons, Bobby A. Addington Jr., Fairfax and Thomas Andrew
Addington, Locust Grove.
Visitation was held Sunday, Feb. 19, at Estes Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral services followed at 7:30 p.m. with Rev. Randy Carter officiating.
Burial was Monday at Powell Valley Memorial Gardens in Big Stone Gap. Pound V.F.W. Post #9600 performed military graveside honors
