ANNIE (RICHMOND) ADDINGTON
Anne R. Addington, formerly of Coeburn, passed away on Saturday (July 9, 2005) at Mason Village in Mason, Ohio, where she made her home since 1994.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James O. and Minnie Culbertson Richmond; a sister, Margaret Nielsen and her husband, A. W. "Dolly" Addington.
Before moving to Ohio, she had been a very active, long time member of the First Baptist Church in Coeburn, and she was a Charter Member Alpha Psi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, International Honor Society for Women Educators.
She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education from Radford College and later received her Masters Degree from University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
She taught school in Wise County for 31 years and then served as Elementary Supervisor for Wise County Schools for the last 7 years of her career.
Survivors are her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Sue and Carson Bond of Schertz, Tex., her son and daughter-in-law, W. Richmond and Linda Addington of West Chester, Oh.; six grandchildren, Kathy Bond Pierce of Louisville, Ky.; Robert Bond of Austin, Tex.; David Bond of Cibolo, Tex.; W.R. Addington Jr., Kevin Addington and Jason Addington all of West Chester, Oh.; seven great-grandchildren; one sister,
Alice Counts of Coeburn.
Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, in the Sturgill Funeral Home Chapel Coeburn with Roger Roller officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenwood Acres Cemetery, Coeburn, Virginia.
The family will receive friends noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Sturgill Funeral Home, Coeburn.
The family appreciates the beauty and sentiment of flowers but would welcome contributions in her memory to The Alzheimer's Association, 644 Linn Street, Ste. 1026, Cincinnati, Ohio 45103 or to Hospice of Cincinnati, 4310 Cooper Road, Cincinnati, Ohio 452428922.
Sturgill Funeral Homes, Coeburn, in charge of arrangements.
