Hey David (you got me into this!) and all the Addingtons, All the Addingtons are meeting at Union, South Carolina where Henry Addington was issued a landgrant from King George back in the late 1700's. Copies of the landgrant are available at the Museum/Probate Judge's Office in Union, SC. Reunion: July 23rd, 9:00 am registration and 10:00 for the regular program. Presently we have Dr. Alan Charles scheduled to speak on the History of Union County, SC and the role of the Addingtons. As you know, almost all of the Addingtons left by early 1800's and went North, and West. We will meet at the Pagett's Creek Baptist Church - the Church was originally Quaker origin and the Addingtons had married into Quaker families. We find references to the Addingtons in the Minutes of the Friends in that area. Nearby William Addington served at the 2nd Battle of Ninety-Six (about 50 minutes from the Church)during the Revolution...I suspect he was active in several other battles. All Addingtons are invited. Make a vacation out of it - Murtle Beach is closeby, Battle of Kings Mtn, Battle of Cowmens battle sites are nearby. Great place to learn about our Patriots and go to the beach also. Charleston is not too far away. Contact Larry Wilson: dlwilson@elberton.net Notify Administrator about this message?
