Dan:It is from memory, but I believe it was in one of the wills (estate papers). Also, one of the researchers has the same Mary having children at 60+.Three of the Harris children are by Nancy who was the "Orphan" of Sarah Harris. The Mary who married Moody Fowler is listed at 60 years of age on her tombstone. Also, the Mary Harris who guardianed several of the children was paid to do so.The last one to die was the one who was handicapped and in the N.C. Archives it states that his mother died in 1876.Mary Harris could write - Polly Harris could not.The Mormon Library lists the deaths of Tyree and Mary. The statement made in one of the records was referring to a suit and they were suing several of Roland Gooch's children - the judge asked them why were they including just a few when there were 11 children.Roland did have 11 children. In the later 1800's when the last one died, most of the Adcocks listed as heirs were not Lethea's children - they were children of other Adcocks. They were ALL after his land and money. One of the earlier ones was attributed as a child - Temperance, but she belonged to another Harris in Bahama (Orange Co. at the time), and she and her husband guardianed for money. She did have a child Beda Harris but they are all buried with her father at one of the churches in Bahama. Her husband died and she remarried. Also, one of the first three children was listed as Jinsey (Nancy Jane) until the other Nancy Harris (orphan of Sarah) came along, and then all of sudden she became "Jane."My husband's great grandmother was the daughter of Nancy Jane Harris and James C. Cozart (This is confirmed on her marriage bond and on her death certificate.)She married a Lunsford. As I stated, they were all after his money.I am doing brief histories for 37 people at a high school reunion in 1 week so will e-mail you in a week or two.
