I am researching John Adamson born around 1800 in England, possibly the Manchester area. He had a brother Daniel Adamson who immigrated to the United States and lived in Yorktown, Westchester County, New York, occupation farmer. Daniel had a wife named Catherine. He also had a sister, Rachel Adamson, who married George Padmore in 1832 in Manchester Cathedral, Lancashire, England. I believe Rachel and George may have had children: John, Martha, James, Daniel, Ann, Elizabeth, Martha, George, Mary, William, and Sarah. Their son Daniel and their daughter Sarah also immigrated to the U.S. John Adamson was married to Margaret ? and served in the armed forces. They had children Daniel, John, Thomas, and Charles. May also have had sons Joseph and Ely. John died in Ontario, Canada, in 1858. Margaret and family immigrated to the United States, eventually settling in Freeport,Illinois and Le Mars,Iowa. Would love to hear from anyone with information about this family, particularly where they may have originated in England and who the parents of John, Daniel, and Rachel were.
