Hi Anna,
I've looked for this information for several years now. I believe James may be a son of Sackfield (Zack ville, Issac Fields, ????) Adams of South Carolina, son of William Adams of Virginia. What little information I've collected has been mostly through others' investigations and web postings. I have no information on Elizabeth.
If this is the same family of Giles county, TN, you'll notice several similarities among the census of the years of 1850, 1860, 1870 (some migration between the Giles/Tn and Limestone/AL line) of names.
