My research is primarily of the Clark or Clarke line.My ancestors were both Joseph Clark and Christopher Clark, sons of Francis and Cordelia Lankford Clark of Louisa County. The spelling of Clark or Clarke has been shown in reference as to both spellings.I primarily use the Clark spelling. There is a reference to Robert Adams being a lawyer. It is possibly in the Albemarle County records. He was the lawyer who represented Sarah Henry's estate after her death.Benjamin Clark, son of Joseph and Mary Beverly Clark of Louisa, was married to Sarah Adams. She was the sister of Robert Adams, son of Thomas.Mert and Margaret Jessen of Dallas, TX are descendants of Benjamin and Sarah Adams Clark. Her brother was a Clark and his DNA was a match to the Louisa County Clarks.I will post some of the following from my research:
Benjamin Clark, moved to Woodord County, Kentucky before 1805, possibly as early as 1803 when Benjamin Clark named Robert Adams his lawful attorney to sell land in Anson County, North Carolina. (From Louisa County Book J, page 495.)
