any descendants of President John Adams have surname "Vought?

I wonder if anyone knows whether there are any descendants of President John Adams today who have the surname of "Vought". I ask because there is a US history instructor at Ulster County Community College in Ulster County, New York, who has been telling his students and other faculty that he is a descendant of the famous founding father John Adams. What is suspicious is that "Hans Vought" (Ph.D. from Conn) gets irate whenever anyone asks him how precisely he is related to President Adams. So, some people at Ulster County would like to know if he is actually a descendant of John Adams at all, or is claiming ancestry with which he has no connection.
