Thank you so much Loren !!!
I knew the general info regarding Alfred & Thurza'a marriage from the BMD site but not specific dates.I have continually been drawing blanks on Thurza and her father. What I wrote in the original message is all I have. You can appreciate how long it will take to look for a John Adams as it is a common name.I know Thurza was born in Tipton from the 1881 census only.We know nothing of siblings or her mother.
On that same census you will note that a few doors away are another group of Seymours with Wilkinson. That is Alfred's mother and his siblings. That was 221 King Edwards Road.
We knew nothing of Alfred's father's name except that it was possibly a Thomas or William or another Alfred. We had also heard through the decades that he was from Lancashire county somewhere.
Thurza and Alfred did have a little girl Thurza who died shortly after birth (Dec 25 1882-Jan 22-1883), a Lily Wilkinson born July 9, 1884, and October 5, 1889 they had a son Frank Wilkinson who was my grandfather.Alfred sr, Alfred jr, Thurza, and Frank, came to Canada sometime between 1900 and 1925 when Frank became the father of my dad Wilfred. He had previously married with 3 children all of whom passed on during my teen years in the 1970's.
Alfred jr, sr, Thurza, Frank and Wilfred are all buried together in Montreal.
From the BMD site there are approx 24 people using Wilkinson as the middle name to Seymour.Thurza's death notice in the family prayer book noted that Alfred Sr was the oldest nephew to Robert Wilkinson Seymour of Thorn Yorkshire (now living in MOntreal).Robert then would be a sibling to William. There are several Selina/Seleana's in the listing as well as other same named relatives. All stretching between BIrmingham and Manchester (including Ormskirk, Bromwich, Madeley, Chorlton)
In the prayer book it notes John Adams was born Feb 15th 1821 and died March 16, 1873.Nothing on his wife
I will go through some more things to see if I can get more info, but the prayer book was really all we had of Thurza.
Thanks again so much for your information.
take care
Cheryl
