Barbara,
I am an Adams whose ancestry is Cornwall (Madron), England.
The following link has lots of information that may help you:

My gr-grandfather was John Bavin Adams who came to the USA in the early 1880's. He was the son of William Adams and Elizabeth Jane Bavin. William's father was John Adams who married Elizabeth Bosence; his father was also John Adams and we strongly believe his wife was Mary Chelew. His father was also John and we think his wife was also Mary, but we don't know her last name. That is as far as we have been able to take this line so far.
John and Mary Chelew had John b. 1793, Grace b. 1798, and William b. 1805. I don't have any information about Grace and William other than that.
John Adams and Elizabeth Bosence had William (my line), Mary Anna, who married John Taylor, and two daughters named Sophia. Evidently the first died as an infant and another child was given the same name. She died later in life possibly as a spinster.
One of the Taylor Children went to Australia and the line exist today.
The other a son, married his Adams first cousin and they lived in the Adams family home in Madron until the line died out. None of the family that I know of is still there unless it is from much farther up the line.
Let me know if you think there is any connection.
