My name is Angelo Vargas. My grandfather was Leopoldo Adames. He was born in San Sabastian PR. The Adames family (according to my knowledge) lived in Camuy, El Pepino, and Lares.My grandpa was born in Lares. He died in 1977 at the age of 65 in New York City (where they immigrated to in 1953). My grandfather was of Spanish descent, as was my grandmother. Although I do not recall much of the family history (it was not a very large family),he had sisters and a brother who also migrated to NYC, Nora and Ernesto, and a couple of other sisters whose names I cannot recall. If it helps, a genetic trait of the family is blue eyes and blond hair, but my grandpa was neither- olivetone complexion with brown eyes. His mother's name was Roman..so he was Roman Adames. His wife, my grandma, was Feliciano. Great to see that there are some of us still out there.It is indeed a small family. Take care.
