I notice that the James Adam and Jean Parker you are looking for had a first child called Lyon Adams b 1858.
My GGG grandfather William Adam, a shoe maker, b.1780 had a son, John, also a shoemaker b. 1808, who married a Janet Lyon in Ayr in 1835. They had a son James born about 1836. I currently have no idea who he married but it would seem possible that he would name a child Lyon after his mother's family? Your James Adam and Jean Parker's marriage certificate would give his parents names. Do you have it? (Easy to get if you haven't!)
I have a fair amount of info of William Adam and his ancestors\descendants, if you think this may be interest.
